About me

I'm currently a Principal User Experience Designer at Blackbaud, a company focused on technology for nonprofits and social impact. Over the past decade, I've built tools that help mission-driven organizations engage their communities, raise funds, and drive meaningful action—from political organizing platforms to nonprofit management systems.

I was initially drawn to design through video gaming, captivated by world-building that extended to every UI element. But while studying graphic design for game development, an elective course on new media opened my eyes to technology's profound impact on our world.

After switching to the Interdisciplinary Computing and the Arts major at UC San Diego, I explored technology's power to influence real-world events and human behavior—learning how digital tools enabled movements like the Arab Spring, and seeing how Google Maps border decisions could trigger real conflicts.

I began my career designing websites for nonprofit organizations. When one of my clients introduced me to NationBuilder, I was inspired by Jim Gilliam's vision of giving everyone the means to harness the Internet's power to make change, and I joined as their product designer.

After four years and Jim's passing, I decided to join Blackbaud for the opportunity to collaborate with a larger design team. That growth has been rewarding—I've earned three promotions over almost five years, reaching Principal User Experience Designer.

Throughout this journey, I remain driven by technology's power to connect people and create meaningful change in the world.
